Kyoto Animation's swimming anime (2013-2018, plus films), based on Kōji Ōji's novel 'High Speed!': Haruka Nanase and his friends revive their childhood bonds in the Iwatobi High swim club. The fictional seaside town of Iwatobi is modelled on Iwami (Tottori) and its Uradome coast, an official collaborator of the franchise.

The most frequent setting in the whole series: in the story, Haruka's and Makoto's homes stand beside the steep stairway climbing from the port to this shrine. In reality, where Haruka's would be there is an empty plot. The entrance is beside the fire station building at the port. It is a residential area: keep quiet and be respectful.

The small fishing port near Haruka's and Makoto's homes, which appears in many episodes of "Free!" and "Eternal Summer" and in the opening of the film "High Speed!". In episode 5 of the first season, the boat taking the club to the desert-island training camp leaves from here.

Arasuna Shrinethe club's prayers
location
In "Eternal Summer", the club prays here for victory in the prefectural championship (ep. 7) and Makoto and Rin talk as children (ep. 10); in "Dive to the Future" (ep. 7) they come to draw fortunes before the regional meet. The stairway is as steep as in the series.

Uradome BeachIwatobi's beach
location
This beach, several hundred metres long and one of Iwami's main ones, appears many times in "High Speed!", "Eternal Summer" and "Dive to the Future", especially its western end. It is part of the Uradome coast, with granite cliffs and pine-covered islets, within the San'in Kaigan Geopark.

Iwami Station — Iwatobi StationIwatobi Station
location
It is the model for Iwatobi Station. In "Eternal Summer" it appears when Nagisa and Rei commute to school and when the club leaves for the regional championship; the square in front appears in the film "High Speed!" and in the summer festival. The building is the original from 1910, renovated in 1994.
