Kiki's Delivery Service
Hayao Miyazaki's film (1989) about Kiki, the 13-year-old witch who settles in a seaside city with her cat Jiji to run a flying delivery service. To create the city of Koriko, the Ghibli team travelled to Sweden: walled Visby (Gotland) and Stockholm's old town are the inspirations cited by the studio itself.

Visby (Gotland) — The City of KorikoKoriko model
The walled Hanseatic town on the Baltic, a World Heritage Site, is Koriko's main model: reddish rooftops sloping to the sea, stone lanes and the medieval wall. Ghibli visited it in pre-production and cites it as reference. (Coordinate: old town.)

Gamla Stan (Stockholm)Kiki's flights
Stockholm's old town completes the Koriko collage: its ochre façades, the medieval grid around Stortorget and the rooftop water views feed Kiki's delivery flights.
