Devilman Crybaby
Acclaimed and shocking modern reinterpretation of Go Nagai's classic manga, directed by visionary Masaaki Yuasa. The story follows Akira Fudo, a pure-hearted crybaby who, pushed by his mysterious childhood friend Ryo Asuka, merges with the powerful demon Amon to protect humanity from an impending demonic invasion. Retaining his human soul but gaining monstrous powers, Akira becomes "Devilman". The series moves the story to present-day Kawasaki, mainly the Kawasaki-ku district, drawing on social media, street rap culture, and nightlife to weave a dark, visceral, and deeply tragic tale about human nature, hatred, and love.
