Yuji Itadori, a high-schooler in Sendai with monstrous physical strength, swallows a mummified finger of the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, to save his friends — and is doomed to become his vessel. Recruited into the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College under the most powerful sorcerer, Satoru Gojo, he is plunged into a world where human negative emotions take form as 'curses'. Although it is a supernatural battle shonen, Jujutsu Kaisen is famous for how faithfully it reproduces real Japan: stations in the northeast, Tokyo parks, and above all the Shibuya ward, recreated street by street in the devastating Shibuya Incident arc.
